What you should know

Criminal record check

You will be required to work with vulnerable groups of the population. Thus, all applicants must provide a criminal record vulnerable sector check on the day of the interview.

To obtain your criminal record check, you must contact your district police. It takes time, thus your request must be made well before the interview.

Information Desk Attendant

Sports Complex

(unionized position, 40 hours/week)

Competition 2019-24

 Reporting to the Director of Recreation and Tourism, the successful candidate will be responsible, in the evening, for the activities related to the information desk at the Sports Complex, including customer service, providing information, responding to phone calls, completing various rental contracts, coordinates the implementation of contracts and follow ups.


  • High School Diploma
  • One (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience (cashier and customer service)
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve customer inquiries in an effective manner
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while being an effective member of a team
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines and assignments in order to meet deadlines in a very demanding customer service focused environment
  • Excellent bilingual (French and English) communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, stakeholders and the general public
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (e.g. Word, Excel and Outlook) with the ability to manipulate data and create complex spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of Amilia Registration software, an asset 


$20.79 hourly according to the Collective Agreement presently in force.

(Full-time, permanent position, 40 hours/week)


Reporting to the Director of Recreation and Tourism, the successful candidate is responsible for the management of human, financial and material resources under his supervision. He is responsible for the planning and organization of maintenance work for the various municipal buildings and facilities, as well as monitoring the execution and evaluation of the various related programs.


  • Plan, execute and monitor maintenance programs and activities related to the various components of municipal buildings, parks and facilities (exterior shell and interior, plumbing, electricity, splash pads, arena, swimming pool, playground) as well as green spaces, carried out by the Town’s staff or subcontractors
  • Ensure proper operation, repair and improvement of air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, heating and computerized remote monitoring, if applicable
  • Solve technical problems related to municipal facilities
  • Manage contracts under his responsibility
  • Participate in the construction, development and renovation projects of municipal buildings and facilities (writing estimates and specifications, reviewing projects, formulating proposals, monitoring implementation, etc.)
  • Prepare the budget for the division and monitor the implementation, in collaboration with the director
  • Research grant opportunities and participate in the application process.


  • Hold a college degree in building mechanics or the equivalent
  • Hold a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Must have unionized personnel management experience
  • Hold a valid driver's license at the minimum Class G
  • Be available to answer calls from the emergency service (24/7)
  • Comfortable in a computerized environment
  • Have advanced communication skills
  • Have the skills to cope with tight deadlines

Administrative Coordinator

(Contract position ending March 31, 2022) 

Competition # 2019-16-02 - HPSB

The Hawkesbury Police Services Board is looking for an Administrative Coordinator to take on various administrative tasks related to the Hawkesbury Intervention Table Project which is a partnership of human-service providers to identify and intervene in situations of acutely elevated risk. The successful candidate will have to organize meetings, effectively follow up on items and create the necessary documentation or reports.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills or abilities:

  • Post-secondary education and/or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a professional environment in social services and/or community service, an asset
  • Fluency and proficiency in both official languages (French and English) both oral and written
  • Excellent research, writing and communication skills
  • Ability to write clear and complete documents
  • Initiative and autonomy
  • Versatility to manage a varied range of duties and interests of various organizations
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Must have advanced working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite

 Any combination of training and experience deemed relevant could be considered.

This, part-time position, is contractual and ending on March 31, 2022. The selected candidate must be available from 7 to 20 hours a week depending on the workload for the duration of the contract. The person will have to be available every second Wednesday during the day in order to attend meetings and follow up with various professionals.


From $30.00 à $37.00 hourly based upon experience.

Recreational Activities Monitor – Sports Complex

(Part time non-unionized position, flexible schedule)

Competition # 2019 – 18 - 2


The Recreational Activities Monitor reports to the Recreation and Tourism Coordinator. The successful candidate monitors skating activities (on the rink and surrounding), multifunctional room activities and participate to all activities related to the sports library.

Main Tasks

  • Monitors all skating activities on the rink and enforces rules to ensure user safety
  • Monitors all activities in the multifunctional room and enforces rules and schedules in order to ensure user safety
  • Ensures the overall cleanliness & equipment storage
  • With the help of the Information Desk employees and in accordance with the procedures, ensures the loan & return of the sports library equipment.


  • Comfortable on skates
  • Basic knowledge of raquet sports
  • Must be bilingual (French and English)
  • Initiative and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work with a minimum of supervision
  • Reliable, responsible, punctual and resourceful
  • Be in good physical shape


$ 14.00 per hour

The Recreation and Culture Department is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Aquafitness Instructor to plan and instruct aquatic fitness classes at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex.

  • Current National Lifeguard Certification, an asset
  • Current General First Aid Certification with CPR-C

Reporting to the Manager of Recreational and Tourism, the bartender is reponsible for serving wine and beer, while offering exceptional customer service during events at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex as well as other areas designated by the town.

  • Minimum of six (6) months of pertinent experience (bar, cashier, customer service)
  • Valid "Smart Serve" Certification
  • Demonstrate initiative, interpersonal skills and have a professional appearance
