Under the supervision of the Fire Chief, the incumbent performs as the point person for the Hawkesbury Fire Dispatch Centre, including marketing and attending meetings and conferences to attract and retain dispatch clients. The incumbent will be required to carry an employer supplied cell phone and answer calls after hours, if needed. The working environment is bilingual, however most inter-office communication is in French.
Requirements
- High school diploma (minimum)
- Must have extensive and recent fire dispatch experience in a unionized environment.
- Fluently bilingual (French and English), both oral and writing.
- Knowledge and experience with computers and technology (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Ability to type 40 wpm (minimum)
- Initiative, discretion, interpersonal skills and autonomy
- Willing and able to work rotating shifts, including days and nights, and on statutory holidays, in accordance with the collective agreement.

OE – 2025-11-20 - Part-time Firefighter – Fire Department
Qualifications and requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent recognized by the Ministry of Education.
- Proficiency in French (although French is the working language, English is mandatory).
- Possess a class G driver’s license. The DZ driver’s license is an asset. The DZ driver’s license must be obtained within the first 12 months of employment.
- Have a clean criminal record.
- Have a driving record of less than 6 demerit points
- Be in a physical and medical condition compatible with the firefighting required tasks.
- Have a minimum vision compatible with the firefighting required tasks.
- Live withing a non-detrimental response time to emergency response and be available to respond to emergency incidents at all time, within a prescribed period.
- Be available at all times to answer emergency incidents within a reasonable time.

Certifications considered major assets
- Possess the Canadian Red Cross First Responder certificate or equivalent.
- Successful completion of the following training: Ontario Incident Management System, Level 100.

- Possess IFSAC or Pro Board NFPA 1072 or 472: Hazardous Materials and Weapons of Mass Destruction Responder Professional Qualifications Standard, Awareness or Operation Level.
- Possess IFSAC or Pro Board NFPA 1002: Occupational Qualification Standard for Drivers and Operators – Pumper.

Under the supervision of the Chief of staff, the Communications coordinator plans, communicates and executes the communication strategy to promote the town, participates in the design of various communication tools and provides consulting support.
Requirements
- Fluency in French and English both verbally and in writing
- Post-secondary education in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, a related field or a combination of these fields with professional experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in communications, preferably in the public sector
- Experience in a municipal or governmental environment is an asset
- Additional training in management, marketing, design, or digital media is an asset
- Excellent writing skills and quality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and communications-specific software (Adobe, Canva, and/or others)
- Strong knowledge of social media and communications trends

Salary and fringe benefits

OE-2025 - Recreational Activities Monitor – Sports Complex
The Recreational Activities Monitor reports to the Recreation and Tourism Coordinator. The successful candidate monitors skating activities (on the rink and surrounding), multifunctional room activities and participate to all activities related to the sports library.
Main Tasks
- Monitors all skating activities on the rink and enforces rules to ensure user safety
- Monitors all activities in the multifunctional room and enforces rules and schedules in order to ensure user safety
- Ensures the overall cleanliness & equipment storage
- With the help of the Information Desk employees and in accordance with the procedures, ensures the loan & return of the sports library equipment.

The Information Desk Clerk I reports to the Director of Recreation and Tourism. The successful candidate performs customer service duties at the front desk of the Sports Complex, monitors activities of participants, issues equipment and provides program and membership information to customers.
Requirements
- Secondary education (in progress or completed)
- Hold 6 months to a year of relevant experience (cashier, customer service)
- Ability to learn new computer software
- Hold a valid First Aid certificate, an asset
- To be available to work on weekdays and weekends shifts
- Bilingualism (French and English) oral and written. Working environment is francophone
Salary
This unionized position has a salary of $17.60 per hour.
In addition to their regular schedule, the chosen candidate must be available, in order to carry out last minute replacements or to fill-in for colleagues on leave. The schedule may be modified occasionally for special events.

OE-2025 - School Crossing Guard
Reporting to the Director of public safety, the school crossing guard ensures the safety and wellbeing of all pedestrians as they cross a street near primary schools in the territory of Corporation of the Town of Hawkesbury.
RESPONSIBILITY
- Analyze the environment to determine the danger zone, assess and stop traffic safely
- Give children safety instructions and ensure they are respected
- Control dangerous behaviour of children during crossing of the street
- Collaborate in school safety campaigns
- Perform any other task related to its function and/or required by its immediate supervisor (e.g. special events)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bilingualism (French and English)
- Knowledge of traffic and safety rules
- Responsible, punctual, cautious and vigilent
- Excellent visual and hearing acuity
- Physical condition necessary (standing work)
- Having one (1) year of relevant experience with such clientele, an asset

SALARY :

NORMAL HOURS OF WORK
Depending on the street, crossing guards work between 7h30 and 9h00 in the morning also between 14h15 and 16h00 in the afternoon.
