FoodCycler

The Town of Hawkesbury participated in a FoodCyclerTM pilot project from December 2023 to December 2024. 
Please find below a summary of the results of this pilot program. 

As of today, December 16th, 2024, there are FoodCyclerTM units that remain available for Hawkesbury residents.

The Town of Hawkesbury is among the 150+ municipal partners that have implemented the FoodCycler as a trusted food waste solution and shown its commitment to a sustainable future. 
The program scope included 95 participating households in the Hawkesbury pilot program. 

What was diverted :
49.56metric tonnes of CO2 emissions diverted per year. This is equivalent to the carbon sequestered by 49.7 acres of forest each year! 
254.18 metric tonnes of food waste diverted per year. With this amount of waste diverted, you are saving 32.2 garbage bags per household annually. Your local landfill thanks you!
